Edelrid Salathe Lite Climbing Helmet

The EDELRID SALATHE LITE is nearly 20% lighter than its larger counterpart. This weight reduction has been achieved by replacing the classic ABS shell with Curv, the latest generation of an extremely high-performance thermoplastic material. Curv shares similar properties to fiber-reinforced composites like carbon: good rigidity, high tensile strength, and exceptional impact resistance, all while maintaining a very low weight.

The helmet features a fully adjustable chin strap with a closure system under the ear, providing greater comfort. Its ultra-light EPP (expanded polypropylene) core offers outstanding shock absorption and high dimensional stability.

The harness straps are easily adjustable, ensuring a secure fit, while the minimal pack size and excellent ventilation contribute to the helmet's comfort. It includes a headlamp attachment with 2 clips at the front and an elastic strap at the back, allowing for convenient use of headlamps.

Large vents in the helmet design ensure a constant supply of fresh air and effective heat dissipation, keeping the wearer comfortable even during strenuous activities. The helmet's shape is specially designed for use with ski goggles, seamlessly integrating with this essential gear.

The interior of the SALATHE LITE is ergonomically shaped, with removable and washable padding for enhanced comfort and hygiene. The helmet has been impact-tested on the sides, front, and back, in accordance with the EN 12492 standard.

In the upper and front areas, the helmet features a robust hard shell made from the innovative, ultra-light Curv material, providing additional protection in the event of rockfall or other impacts. This durable construction ensures the SALATHE LITE can withstand the demands of various outdoor activities, from mountaineering to climbing, while maintaining its lightweight and performance-focused design.
